Kasahara Iku, the first woman to join the Library Task Force, is the subject of Toshokan Sensou's narrative. In the near future, Japan's people will be subjected to the Media Enhancement Law, which would control all publications and media. The Library Defense Force was formed to counteract this. To defend themselves against the Media Enhancement Law Commission, all large libraries are fully armed with a military Task Force, which takes it upon themselves to safeguard the people's books and freedom of media. This anime follows Iku and her fellow soldiers as they defend different special books and relics from the Media Enhancement Law Commission's persecution. A love story, a war narrative, and a comedy all in one.
