On their first day of high school, meek Ayumi Nonomura and taciturn Tatsuki Iizuka get lost on Kamizono Academy's sprawling campus. Torako Kageyama, an unstoppable force of nature, arrives in front of them, followed by her closest friend Suzume Saotome. Torako leads, and sometimes pushes, the girls and their classmates as they work through issues of school, family, and puberty.
