Seishuu Handa is a rising calligrapher who is young, attractive, brilliant, and unfortunately, a narcissist. When a veteran calls his award-winning piece "unoriginal," Seishuu loses his temper and suffers serious consequences. Seishuu's father exiles him to the Goto Islands, far from the luxurious Tokyo lifestyle the volatile artist is accustomed to, as a punishment and to aid him in self-reflection. Seishuu must now try to discover new inspiration and build his own unique creative style in a rural setting—that is, assuming rowdy toddlers (led by the rambunctious Naru Kotoishi), fujoshi middle schoolers, and lively old men don't barge into his house! The newest member of the small and eccentric Goto community merely wants to get some work done, but the islanders have other ideas.
